The end of April isn’t the best time of year for a week in Melbourne. Just as the Northern Hemisphere is creeping into summer, the Southern Hemisphere is sprinting into winter.

So with a few breaks in the rain and extremely high winds, I managed to get the DJI Mavic Pro up at St Kilda beach (short ride on the number 12 tram) and on the other side of town for the Yarra river.

The time-lapse shots at Victoria Market were shot using the stock camera app on the iPhone 7+ – all handheld as I’d left the Joby Tripod at home!

WARNING to drone flyers – make sure you check the local flight restrictions (I use Hover) and keep your eye open for the helicopter and light aircraft flying low in the St Kilda beach area.
